Delayed passengers brave –52C temperatures to PUSH a PLANE frozen on runway

THIS is no doubt an astonishing moment as passengers push a plane in minus 52 degree temperatures in an attempt to prevent a delay.
The aircraft froze on the ground in the freezing weather at Igarka airport in Siberia, Russia, yesterday.
However, in a bid to begin their flight to the city of Krasnoyarsk on time, as many as 70 passengers got out and pushed the plane off the ice at the airport, which is north of the Arctic Circle.

The report indicates the men, many of whom are oil and gas workers, shouting "come on, push" as they hauled the Soviet-era Tupolev 134 craft, weighing 30 tonnes.
One of them is heard saying: "Real man can plant a tree, build a house, push a plane."
The passengers pushed the plane's wings, freeing the frozen brakes, and moving it backwards.
Problems developed on one of the coldest days of the year because "the wrong kind of grease was used for the landing gear" - unsuitable for the most northern locations, it was reported.
Vladimir Artemenko, a director of Katekavia, which ran the flight jointly with UTair, claimed the plane was "technically serviceable", but the chilly temperatures had led it to freeze up.
An airport tractor had failed to move the plane.
Mr Artemenko added: "When people pushed the plane, the wheel cranked out, and then the aircraft could continue to move."
