Do it for United! Louis van Gaal challenges England ace Wayne Rooney to find scoring touch

LOUIS VAN GAAL has congratulated Wayne Rooney on his England exploits but told him to start scoring for Manchester United.

Rooney took his tally to six goals in six games for his country with his double against Scotland but has only managed three in eight for his club – the last of them coming at the end of September.

Van Gaal said: "It's always fantastic when you see he's the youngest player [for England] with 100 caps. He's receiving a cap and his sons are standing there proud, but also that the father is proud. It's fantastic to see.

“I have congratulated him - but now he has to score for Manchester United and that's important as well.”
