'I'm not doing maths on air': Nicky Morgan dodges simple equation asked by 10-year-old

EDUCATION secretary Nicky Morgan today refused to answer a simple maths question asked by a 10-YEAR-OLD on live television.
The Tory politician was being quizzed by school pupil Leon Remphry on Sky News' Stand Up Be Counted when he asked her for the cube root of 125.
But instead of answering the secondary school equation, Ms Morgan simply said: "I think it’s probably best that politicians don’t do maths or spelling on air."

Leon then responded: "I’m afraid I’ve got to press that question – do you know what the answer is?"
Ms Morgan maintained that it would not be “wise” for her to answer, forcing Leon to give her the answer of five.
She then told him she would have to "go away and work out" the cubed root of 1,728 minus 11 - which is one.
Her bizarre response has now left the nation wondering whether she did in fact know the answer to the simple maths, or was genuinely declining to give it.
One Twitter user simply put: "Oh dear Nicky Morgan. #NickyMorgan #basicmathsskills"
While another tweeted: "This is just embarrassing."
However, this is not the first time that a minister has dodged a simple maths question.
In July this year, Chancellor George Osborne avoided a question asked by a seven-year-old boy on the same show.
Mr Osborne seemed baffled when the young lad asked him the answer to seven times eight, despite mentioning on the show that he had an A-Level in maths.
During her interview today, Ms Morgan was also asked what qualified her to be Education Secretary, when she had never worked in education and was privately educated.
She answered that she was a parent, had family who had been teachers and her husband was a school governor.
“But also I think that as a minister, you’re there to challenge the system, so you’re not there to be the expert that necessarily worked in the system, you’re there to care about it, ask the questions,” she told the youngsters.
